Ancient Egypt, racial construct and Robert Knox
Location
A talk on nineteenth-century anatomist and racial scientist Robert Knox’s work on Egypt in Races of Men. Sometimes described as the ‘Father of British Racism’, Robert Knox was fascinated by what the statutory art of ancient Egypt said about race and civilisation. This talk explores and critiques his observations.
