Dr Saeed Talajooy, UCL
After screening Dariush Mehrju's Pari & Franny and Zooey, Dr Saeed Talajooy (UCL) will discuss the film with Clare Foster and the audience. The seminar will examine the film as an intercultural adaptation of J.D. Salinger's 'Franny and Zooey'. With the support of the Iran Heritage Foundation, London. this is the third screening in a short series at UCL, called 'Intergeneric' translation: inspriation and influence.
Clare Foster has worked as an academic and screenwriter, specialising in the adaptation of novels and historical subjects such as Sebastien Faulk's Birdsong and Flora Fraser's The Unruly Queen, working with such figures as Mike Newell and Kristin Scott Thomas. She returned to Classics in 2008 at UCL, specialising in the performance tradition of ancient theatre.
