Mike Rann has been Premier of South Australia since 2002., , Upon taking office, he also became Australia's first Minister for Sustainability and Climate Change, and his Government became the first jurisdiction in the nation - and the third in the world - to introduce dedicated Climate Change legislation. Since then, South Australia has established a growing reputation as a national, and in a number of areas, a global exemplar in the adoption of, and adaptation to, measures that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, promote renewable energy and embrace environmental sustainability. That work has won the recognition of a number of leading international figures, including David Suzuki, Al Gore and Mikhail Gorbachev.

This special guest lecture will be given by the Hon Mike Rann CNZM MP, Premier of South Australia and Minister for Sustainability and Climate Change.

The lecture, entitled 'Leadership in a Carbon Constrained Economy', will take place at UCL on Wednesday 1 December 2010.

Registration will take place at 14:30 and the lecture will commence at 15:00. A drinks reception will follow at 16:00.
